Privacy Policy
How Floor Plan Generator handles project data, cookies, technical logs, and information you provide.
Last updated: 2026-07-29
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Floor Plan Generator ("we" or "us") handles information when you visit floorplangenerator.net and use the browser-based floor plan editor (together, the "Service"), or when you contact us.
The current editor works without an account. Most project data stays in your browser.
Information Handled by the Service
Project data stored in your browser
The editor stores projects, automatic snapshots, thumbnails, settings, and onboarding preferences in your browser's local storage. This information remains on that device during ordinary editing. We do not receive the contents of a locally stored project unless you choose to send it to us, use a feature that clearly transfers it, or a future cloud feature is enabled.
Clearing browser data may permanently delete local projects. Export a JSON copy if you need a portable backup.
Information you provide
We process information you choose to provide, such as:
- Your email address and message when you contact
support@floorplangenerator.net. - Account details if you use an account feature that is enabled, such as your email address, display name, authentication identifiers, and account settings.
- Files or project information you deliberately send with a support request.
The current public editor does not require payment information and does not offer paid plans.
Technical information
When you request a page, our hosting and security providers may process standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, referring page, date and time, and error or security events. We use this information to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain security.
Cookies and Local Storage
Necessary browser storage supports language and theme preferences, security, authentication when enabled, and locally saved editor data. These functions do not require optional consent.
At the date shown above, the website has no optional analytics, advertising, or customer-support tool configured, so it does not display an optional-consent panel. If we enable one of these tools, we will request the relevant choice before loading it and update this Policy.
Browser settings can block or delete cookies and local storage. Blocking necessary storage may prevent preferences, local projects, or account features from working as expected.
How We Use Information
We use information described above to:
- Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
- Save the choices and settings you request.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
- Detect abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Understand referral sources or product use only when the relevant optional category is enabled and allowed.
- Meet legal obligations and protect users, the public, and the Service.
When We Disclose Information
We may disclose information:
- To hosting, infrastructure, authentication, and support providers that process it for us.
- When you direct us to use a third-party feature or service.
- When reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request.
- To investigate fraud, security incidents, or violations of our terms, or to protect legal rights and safety.
- As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information. The current version does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention
- Local editor data remains in your browser until you delete it, clear browser storage, or the browser removes it.
- Support messages and account information, if any, are kept only as long as reasonably needed to provide the requested service, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
- Hosting and security logs are retained according to operational needs and provider settings.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the information we process. Internet transmission and browser storage cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure. Keep portable project backups and avoid placing sensitive personal information in project names, labels, or support messages unless it is necessary.
Your Choices and Rights
You can delete local project data and other browser storage through your browser settings. If optional categories are enabled later, the Service will provide controls for managing them. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information we hold, and to object to or restrict certain uses.
Send requests to support@floorplangenerator.net. We may need information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Children
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information can contact us to request deletion.
International Processing
The Service can be accessed from different countries. Our providers may process technical and support information in countries where they operate. Privacy rights and transfer requirements vary by location and continue to apply where required.
Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may link to or embed a separately hosted editor or other third-party service. Those services may have their own privacy practices. We will identify any optional third-party tool at the point of use when practical, and you should review its privacy information before sending data to it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised version with a new date and provide additional notice when required by law.
